Description
Year: 2003Media: Painter 8, PS 7, Wacom tablet
This is my first digital painting done completely freehand, with no sketch. I worked on it for a couple of hours a day over the course of a month.
I (rather loosely) used this photo reference for the hands.

Nice piece. You're getting some good lighting in this, especially on the face. I think you could use a few more faint shadows, such as on the forehead below the hairline, and on the hands where the fingers shadow eachother, just to add to the impact of your lighting a little. Maybe even some faint brighter surfaces on the top of the shoulders, to give it more depth.

Her shoulders: maybe thats your intention but if that is, you should define the purpose more. They look a bit "cut-off" as it is now.
Overall, iI think this is a very good painting.

Hands are very well drawn, aswell.
The body looks very thin, but something tells me that might have been intentional. Perhaps a little shading done on the arms would have helped. The hands just sort of look like they are appearing from nowhere.
Nice use of reflected light!
