Description

Year: 2003
Media: Painter 8, PS 7, Wacom tablet

This is my first digital painting done completely freehand, with no sketch. I worked on it for a couple of hours a day over the course of a month.

I (rather loosely) used this photo reference for the hands.

Nice piece. You're getting some good lighting in this, especially on the face. I think you could use a few more faint shadows, such as on the forehead below the hairline, and on the hands where the fingers shadow eachother, just to add to the impact of your lighting a little. Maybe even some faint brighter surfaces on the top of the shoulders, to give it more depth.

Great colours and expression.

Very good job on the hair, skintone and the backgroundcolor fits well. The figure is also well done, very good face and her hands are beautiful.

Her shoulders: maybe thats your intention but if that is, you should define the purpose more. They look a bit "cut-off" as it is now.

Overall, iI think this is a very good painting. :)

This picture certainly looks quite creepy. I love the exclusion of the eyes. I do that sometimes myself, it definately creates a kind of mystery around the picture.

Hands are very well drawn, aswell.

The body looks very thin, but something tells me that might have been intentional. Perhaps a little shading done on the arms would have helped. The hands just sort of look like they are appearing from nowhere.

Nice use of reflected light!

Well done, keep up the good work^_^b

And nice hands they are. ^^ I love the colors you've chosen and the lack of eyes. Very creepy, yet the smile is comforting.

The puckered scar gives an interesting effect, as its the only small / unblurred detail on the piece it really attracts attention. Nice
